1. Heat the combustion boat until it is hot, then cool in a desiccator for at least 30 minutes and weigh to the nearest 0.0001g. (1.0 ± 0.1)g of polyethylene samples were placed in a combustion boat and weighed together to the nearest 0.0001 g. The weight of the burning boat was subtracted from that weight to obtain the weight A of the polyethylene sample, accurate to 0.0001. g. (dryer need to be equipped with)
2. First place the burning boat with the sample in the middle of the quartz tube of the heating furnace, then insert a rubber stopper of the exhaust glass tube into the end of the glass combustion tube, and adjust the atmosphere device so that the oxygen content is less than 0.5%. Nitrogen flows through the quartz tube at the required flow rate and maintains this flow rate during subsequent heating.
3. Move the burning boat to the mouth of the instrument. Do not remove it immediately. After the combustion boat is cooled down slightly in nitrogen, remove the burning boat, then cool it in a desiccator for 20~30 minutes and reweigh, minus the weight of the burning boat. Measure the weight of the residue to the nearest 0.0001g (residue weight B).
4, then the combustion boat put the glass combustion tube, in step4 adjust the atmosphere device to replace nitrogen gas at an appropriate flow rate into the quartz tube in the glass combustion tube, so that the residual carbon black is completely burned. Take out the combustion boat and cool it, weigh it, subtract the weight of the boat, and measure the weight of the residue to the nearest 0.0001g (residue weight C).
